I know it’s been quiet over here, but that’s just because it’s been like Christmas all week long! Sometimes you have to decide what you will make your priorities. I bumped up Christmas and family fun to the top of the list and it’s been wonderful! My sisters wrapped up their semester and they’ve been home. I love it when we’re all in the same city!
I’ve been majorly slacking in the Instagram/InstaFriday department. This last month has been INSANE. Seriously. It’s just been one thing after another. I’m ready to have some peaceful days where nothing out of the ordinary comes up.
My grandma spent 2 extended stays in the hospital, and then wound up with the flu. Poor thing. I decorated this little tree for her so that when she got home from her second stay, she’d have a little Christmas cheer at home. I found the little tree {pre-lit!} at Walmart for $10 and then raided the mini-tree section at Hobby Lobby. I stuck to a red, whiten and silver theme with some ice crystals, candy cane hearts, and snowflakes. I had fun putting this one together.
I am totally loving our hot cocoa station. I’m thinking it will stick around for the rest of winter. {Assuming we have a winter. We’ve only had a handful of cold days around here so far.}
Last week was Christmas party week. We had Tim’s office party Saturday night. I must say, I had the best looking date in the house. Oh my word I love this man.
Sunday morning we had some good Texas thunderstorms. I love it. I snuggled into the couch with Macy and a cup of coffee and enjoyed the light of the tree before we headed out for Christmas with my dad’s side of the family. {Grandparents and cousins}. It was so nice to be able to slow down and rest. I was really needing it.
This week has been full of family fun {and I’ve been a horrible Instagramer}. We enjoyed a basketball game together on Wednesday, and went to see Home Alone at the theater last night. Today I get to go to my sister’s first wedding dress fitting {!!!!!!!!} and then the rest of the weekend will consist of lots of baking and soaking up the last few days of the Christmas season.
I hope you are all having a joyful and blessed season. It will probably continue to be pretty quiet around here for the next week, but I have lots of exciting things planned for the new year!
Have a very, merry Christmas!!
