I inherited this little antique farmhouse bench and had great plans for it to live at the end of our bed. Apparently, our bed is smaller than I realized {And this realization then led to a discussion about who takes up more room in bed. Hint: It’s the person who thought the bed was wider than it is.} . The bench is about a foot or so longer than the bed is wide, so it didn’t look as great as I’d imagined.
Plan B was to moved the bench over to the wall in our bedroom. It looked okay…it just needed a little something for it to make sense.
I found a couple of great pillows at great prices. The blue and grey floral pillow was a TJ Maxx find. They seriously have some of the greatest home items. The gold and white ikat-esque pillow is from the Nate Berkus collection at Target, on clearance! {R.I.P. Nate Show}.
I’m kinda proud of my pattern mixing these days. I’m pleasantly surprised with how great these pillows look together, and complement the room without being too matchy matchy, as my dear David Bromstad would say {Hot soup, anyone?}.
I already had the burlap basket with bird print. It was a gift a couple of years ago, and is perfect to hold my design mags and current book selection. I have a whole stack of books I’m “reading” right now….which means I read a couple of paragraphs and fall asleep. Am I getting old?
I’m loving this new addition to the bedroom! It’s the perfect place to sit to put your shoes on. Here is the biggest news of all concerning the bench….in the 2 weeks it has been living here, I have yet to use it to throw clothes on. This is huge, y’all!
Have a splendid Wednesday!

What a pretty piece and such beautiful pictures. Very nice. It looks like something out of a magazine – even if it isn’t at the end of the bed.
Thanks for sharing.
