hello, spring!

Happy first day of Spring! I know some of you are cursing Puxatony Phil, but if you aren’t already…you’ll be sitting in the sunshine in your shorts and flip flops before long! Our first springtime thunder storm rolled through last night. Some of the pictures of the hail the storm brought are unreal. I’m happy for the rain to wash away the yellow green stuff – blech. I know it’ll be back, but it’s nice to have one day where my car isn’t green

I gussied by porch up a bit to welcome spring. I decided to keep it very simple. Spring seems like a simple season to me, plus the less items there are to clean off, the better. I haven’t really done anything to the front porch since we put away the Christmas decorations. I kept up our red berry wreath since it read wintery to me, and not just Christmasy. It has since been swapped out for this springy yarn wreath.

The only other item I have on the porch as added decor is this Boston fern in an urn. Fern in an urn. Maybe I could market that. ;)

I like walking up to a big explosion of green before entering the house. It is super springy and cheery and a little crazy. And it’s a friendly fern!

Why, hello to you too, Fern in an Urn! I spotted these little chalkboard wands at Michael’s and thought it would be a cute little surprise. They also had these in squares, hearts, and stars. There are so many things that could be done with these cutie little chalkboards!

Enjoy the first {official} day of spring, and if you haven’t already, I hope you thaw out soon! :)
