Fall Mantel

There are only 3 days left until the first official day of Autumn! We have a cool front coming through this weekend, just in time {high of 80’s instead of high 90’s! wooo! haha}. I have a touch of Fall in almost every corner of the house. I am just about ready to sit back and enjoy the season, with a pumpkin spice latte in hand of course.

I am so happy that I went ahead and hung our new mantel. I always love an extra surface to decorate, especially around this time of year. I’m changing up our Fall decor a bit from years past and keeping it a bit simpler. For the mantel, I used mostly what I already had with a couple of handmade items. I have a bunch of vintage, blue mason jars leftover from our wedding, so those often make it into my decor. I’m still in love with them, and you can incorporate them in so many different ways. This time, the jar gets to hold a bouquet of Autumn leaves and a few acorns, too.

fall mantel I had a favorite photo from our Tennessee vacation last year put on canvas. This was the starting point for my mantel vision. What says “Fall” more than elk? :) This part of our vacation was quite the adventure, but with an amazing payout. It is a memory that will stick with me forever {near-death-like experiences will do that to ya!}.

The gold mirror was thrifted {and an exciting find, at that!}. The George Eliot quote on the chalkboard perfectly expresses what I feel about Fall. I think maybe I will become migratory!

fall mantel I really enjoyed making the pennant banner. I used sheet music from an old hymnal to make the accordion pinwheels. Sheet music, especially when it is aged, is wonderful for Fall, Christmas, and Winter decor. Expect to see more of it!
