Bathroom Side Table : CORAL! or coral ?

Hi there! Did you have a good weekend? All of our football team are just pitiful right now, but it’s nice to have a couple of days to relax…even if they try to ruin things for us. ;)

I got a new, bigger table for our entry way, that fits the space even better than this one did. The old entry way table was moved to our master bathroom and received its 4th makeover.

charcoal side table

Yup. This table started out naked, ended up with white paint, then black, then charcoal, and now coral! I like the direction I’m headed here, but I’m not completely sure if I’m finished with it yet.

Coral Side Table

I found my color inspiration in the Rifle Paper Co. prints that make up the gallery wall over the tub. I really like the night corals and pinks that pop up in several of the prints. The whole spaces is going to be primarily grey and white with a few touches of light blue here and there. I thought the coral would be a really nice and unexpected pop of color.

Gallery Wall - side table color inspiration

I used the color “Dishy Coral” from Sherwin Williams. I have never been one to be scared by color, but I’m thinking it might be a bit too much. I was envisioning a more muted coral and not so much flamingo pink. I can’t tell if it’s our orangey oak cabinets that is making the color seem so loud, or if that’s just the way it is.

I’m planning to paint the cabinets a charcoal grey {much like the color the table was before, hence the changing of the paint color}. I think it might tone down the coral a bit.

So…I need your advice here. {I know. Life’s earth moving questions.}. Would you:

a) Wait until the cabinets are painted to see how it all comes together.

b) For all that is good! Tone that puppy down now!

c) Live a little and keep the bold color!

Have you experimented with a bold color recently? Or do you try to stick to what you know works?
