Dollar Store Tinsel Wreath

I hope you all had a great weekend! It was a {very} cold and wet weekend, so we hunkered down and did a little Christmas crafting, movie watching, and lots of snuggling. It was such a nice weekend after a couple of crazy busy weeks.

Vintage Inspired Tinsel Wreath - made using only items from the dollar store

 Like I mentioned before, I’m planning to go with a bit of a vintage vibe in my Christmas decor this year. To bring in some of that retro, I made a tinsel wreath – just like the days of yore. :) I was inspired by Tidy Mom’s tinsel wreath, and decided to do my own take on it using only items from the dollar store.

Vintage Inspired Tinsel Wreath - supplies {all came from the dollar store}

 To create this look, you will need a wreath form {I used a tinsely one from the dollar store}, two different tinsel garlands, and a few picks and ornaments to use as embellishments.

 To begin,you will wrap one of the garlands around your wreath form. I tucked the end of the garland through the back of the wreath form to keep it secure.

 When wrapping your first garland, leave a little space in between each wrap for your second garland.

 I chose two different garlands to get a variety of color and texture in the wreath.

Once you’ve wrapped and secured both garlands on the wreath form, you can start embellishing with picks and ornaments. Just add a bit of hot glue to make sure everything stays put.

 And there you have it! This hardly took many any time at all and only cost $7 for all of the supplies {and I had a bunch leftover to either make a second wreath or another Christmas craft!}.

This wreath went to live in this fun corner of our guest room. The “Joy to the World” letters are scrapbook stickers and can be easily removed.

 Have you started working on any of your Christmas decor yet?

I hope the start of your week is great! :)

I love my husband, family, friends, and sweet puppy. Every morning starts with a cup of coffee, and many days end with one. I enjoy being crafty, organizing events of any size, being outside, appreciating art, finding creative and healthful ways to cook, and living a simple life. I spend a lot of my time working on projects to update our home (on the cheap), which may or may not include the occasional midnight spray painting. I'm glad you stopped by! If nothing else, I hope my crazy antics will at least bring a smile to your face!
