Easy Ornament Frame

Psst….this month’s big giveaway went live at midnight. Don’t miss out on a chance to deck out your mantel!

This is my second time to participate in the Craftaholics Anonymous Craft Exchange. It is so much fun! Last time, I made these paint-dipped bamboo spoons. With the Holidays practically staring us in the face, I chose to go with a Christmas-y craft this time around. I made a picture frame ornament….that is made of ornaments. It’s like Inception! ;)

Easy Ornament Frame

I picked up an MDF frame ornament from the Christmas crafting section of Hobby Lobby, a few packs of mini ornaments, and a long strand of silver beads.

The actual MDF frame wasn’t quite large enough to attach the ornaments, so I cut a base out of cardboard. I used a large mason jar to guide the actual size of the base, and the glass insert of the frame to guide the inner cut out.

I started hot glueing the ornaments to the cardboard base. I ended up popping the end off of the ornaments to that they fit a little more snug. I continued glueing until pretty much the entire base was covered, and filled in any bald spots with silver beads. All that is left to do is hot glueing the cardboard base to the MDF frame.

Easy peasy! This would make a great gift for neighbors or teachers. It will look great holding this year’s Christmas card photo, or a photo of a fun Christmas memory!

I love my husband, family, friends, and sweet puppy. Every morning starts with a cup of coffee, and many days end with one. I enjoy being crafty, organizing events of any size, being outside, appreciating art, finding creative and healthful ways to cook, and living a simple life. I spend a lot of my time working on projects to update our home (on the cheap), which may or may not include the occasional midnight spray painting. I'm glad you stopped by! If nothing else, I hope my crazy antics will at least bring a smile to your face!
