InstaFriday + Miscellany

Happy Friday and happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! I hope you are all feeling loved today! I’ve been totally off my InstaFriday game lately. We have yet to have a “normal week” this year so my routine has totally been off. Not to mention, there are only so many things to Instagram when you’re a granny and just want to stay in and snuggle with your dog. ;)

Here in South Texas, we haven’t had wintry weather in several years. It’s been 5 years since we had “snow”. In the last few weeks we’ve had a TON of it. And when I say ton…I’m looking through my Texas colored glasses. Our friends to the north, including my family in the Panhandle of Texas are laughing at us. We’re neither used to nor equipped for this kind of weather.

InstaFridayBoth of our ice days were spent in front of the fire with excessive amounts of coffee. I worked in front of the fire, slept in front of the fire, and even crafted in front of the fire. It’s the right thing to do when you get a rare icy day.

InstaFridayLast Thursday, we actually woke up to snow! More like snow/sleet/freezing rain. I did what any normal person would do and went directly outside in my pj’s and built a teensy little snowman. This is Howard.

InstaFridayThis is poor Howard by the time I got home. Bless it.

Good new! The sun is BACK! We had so many grey, dreary days. I was so glad to have some sunshin back in my life. We’re onto spring weather…at least for the next week or so. Don’t be jealous.

InstaFridayAside from our winter weather, we’ve just been hanging out and lazing around with plenty of puppy snuggles. I was editing photos on the floor {naturally} and walked away for a second. I came back to my assistant staring at the computer screen. She’s a funny creature.

I stumbled across so much great inspiration on the interwebs this week. Here is a little reading for your weekend.

1Nicole-500x800I am a little obsessed with this Chicago loft featured on Design Sponge. Holywow. When I was in high school, I had high aspirations of marrying an artist and living in a cool loft downtown to work on our creative ventures together. This is pretty much what my imaginary loft would have looked like. Well, I married the artist and the burbs aren’t so bad. ;)

86abd4467cb202a3b2089f49f05f680cI love this list of creative nightstand/side table ideas. I would love to try building these midcentury mod style tables. I think I could do it!

Run to Radiance - Craft RoomI also found a couple of new {to me} blogs that are awesome. These ladies have great style! Above is Tania from Run to Radiance‘s craft room. Click on over to see the reveal and stick around to see the rest of the house she and her husband are remodeling.

My Passion for Decor - Family RoomMy Passion for Decor’s family room makeover is just awesome. I love the eclectic feel with all of the fun vintage finds. Be sure to check out the rest of her home as well!

I hope you all have a fabulous LOVE day and weekend! What are your plans? I think I’ll be making an Ikea run early tomorrow morning before I tackle my to-do list. I’m way too excited about the Ikea part. :)
