Teacher Gift Ideas

The end of the school year is upon us! Can you believe it? While some of you have already celebrated the start of summer, it seems like the majority of kiddos are still in school. Our local kids aren’t out until June 5th, and I know the long winter extended the school year for many.

Aside from being totally burnt out from the school year, end of semester projects and exams, school performances and awards ceremonies…you may also have teacher gifts on your to-do list. My mom-in-law is a 7th grade teacher, so I asked her what kinds of gifts teachers like more than others. She suggested anything consumable — that could be gift cards, treats {hello, chocolate!}, or classroom supplies. Basically anything that is useful and won’t just become clutter. Forget the mugs. They have plenty! And just say no to apples.

BONUS IDEA: Never under estimate the power of the written word. The reason we give teachers gifts is not to just pile them up with more stuff or to add something to our to-do list. The purpose is to show our gratitude to them. Teachers work so hard every day {and most nights!} to teach and love on our kids. They sacrifice so much of their own time, money, and emotions to care for and help raise up the next generation. Take some time to write an encouraging note to let our teachers know how amazing we think they are!
