Back to School Teacher Survival Kit {and free Printable}

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media GroupĀ® and Office Depot, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #inspirestudentshttp://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Summer is winding down to a close as many kiddos have already headed back to school, and the rest will be making their way shortly. The students in our area have a week left, but our awesome teachers are already back to work prepping for a great school year.

We are really lucky to live in a great school district that is full of amazing teachers and staff. They work tirelessly to educate and love on our kids. That is no easy task! Did you know that teachers actually work around 12-16 hours a day? Did you know that on average, teachers spend $485 a year out of their own pockets to pay for school supplies, instructional materials and other classroom supplies? They still remain passionate about teaching and guiding our kids. I think it is safe to say, our teachers are superheroes!

My Mom-in-law is one of the very best! She has been teaching and changing lives for years {including her own boys}. She currently teaches 7th graders. Bless. It takes a special person to teach middle school! I’ve listened to her heart for the students who sit in her classroom, and I see the passion she has for these young people. She works so hard to not only be a great teacher, but to also make her classroom a safe and welcoming place. Many of her students are dealing with some pretty tough stuff at home. I know it must mean so much to them to have a place where they can go and find a listening ear and compassionate heart.

Before she heads back to her normal routine, I wanted to put together something to bless her. It is impossible to repay our teachers for the blood, sweat and tears they put into their jobs — but it can’t hurt to send a small box of blessings to remind them that we appreciate what they do!

I had some fun doing a little Back to School shopping at our local Office Depot. Picking up new school supplies is just the best! I set out to collect items to create a “Back to School Teacher Survival Kit”. This is a super simple, but practical gift. All you will need is a pencil box and any items you think a teacher might need in her arsenal.

Uni-Ball black ink pens

PaperMate Red Ink Joy Pens {the best! and all teachers need to have their red ink!}

A fun pen holder that can stick to a clip board or desk

Breath mints

and chocolate….LOTS of chocolate.

You might also wanted to consider adding sharpened number 2 pencils, erasers, glue sticks, dry erase markers, gift cards, and anything else that might make their lives a little easier.

Pack all of your goodies into the pencil box. Add a note of appreciation from either your or your student {or both!}. Fill any remaining space that could be taken up by air with chocolate. You can use this printable label {link at the bottom of this post} to add to the top of the box. The printable is provided in color, but you can print it out in black and white and let your student add some color.

Your teacher is sure to feel loved and appreciated with this simple gift! And because you know I love great deals, right now, you can save $5 off your purchase of $20 or more on Select Newell Rubbermaid Brands (PaperMate, Expo Neon Window Markers, Sharpie, Uni-Ball, & Mr. Sketch) at Office Depot. You can also buy Sharpie singles for just $.25 each this week {August 17-23}. Because Sharpies are love.  {while supplies last}
