JOYful Christmas Porch

Hi y’all! I hope you had a great weekend! Ours was full, but great! I’m officially done with all of my Christmas shopping! Woohoo!

We didn’t get around to putting lights on the house this year, but I did decorate the front porch as usual. I always get a fresh garland for around the door. This year’s is cedar {which, since last year, I forgot I’m slightly allergic to….but it’s so pretty!}.

Instead of a wreath, I hung this JOYful door banner. You can find all of the details in my post at All Things Thrifty

The big chalkboard got a festive touch, too. When I’m trying to get inspired, I’ll do a Google search for chalk art to use as a guide. I just freehand based on my inspiration.

The porch needed a bit of sparkle, so I brought back the tomato cage trees.

Little miss Macy Jane had to get in on the fun, too. :)

Wintry Christmas Vignette

One of my favorite spaces to decorate for Christmas is our bedroom dresser. It is often decked out before we even have our main tree up! The first Christmas after we got married, I bought an adorable 4 foot white tree. I love this little tree and enjoy creating a wintry vignette around it every year.

I have a collection of white, silver and clear ornaments that make the tree sparkle. My collection has grown in recent years to include vintage blue and pink Christmas balls and a few vintage-inspired snow globe ornaments.

A large chalkboard sits in place of where our usual print is. I free-handed this wreath and to tell you the truth…I’m completely impressed that I actually got such a round circle!

I’m pretty much in love with anything Lindsay Letters produces, and was super pumped to see that she has a line with Hobby Lobby this year. I scooped up a couple of the metallic prints including this one. “O Holy Night” is my favorite Christmas hymn. I’d be happy to have the lyrics plastered across my walls at all times.

The print is joined by a white, glittery deer and sparkly tree topper.

Christmas Coffee Bar

A year ago, I was just dreaming of and making plans for a coffee bar in our little kitchen. Now, this favorite corner of mine is getting a festive touch. So many of our Christmas traditions include a hot cup coffee or cocoa in hand — whether it is decorating the tree or driving around town to see the lights.

Christmas Coffee Bar -- with vintage flair

Our coffee bar is fully stocked for the season — coffee, tea and cocoa, flavored syrups, candy canes. Anything you need to make a cup of cheer!

I add a red snowflake platter to corral a few necessary items. The Christmas themed sugar and creamer set were a thrifting find. The sugar bowl is full of raw sugar, while the creamer holds onto tiny ceramic stirring spoons and the milk frother. I would love to find some Christmas-y milk glass mugs to hang from those hooks next year.

I had so much fun adding some vintage elements to the shelf above the coffee cabinet !

The plant in the coffee can {my favorite coffee!} was already sitting on the shelf, but I paired him with a cutie deer plate {Target a couple of years ago} and a vintage Santa mug. I spotted that winky face at a Goodwill last year. He was so cute, and for 50 cents…I just could not pass him up. I was shocked when I saw some similar mugs at antique store last week for $10 and up! I officially call that a thrifting score!

My vintage thermos collection transitions from fall to winter seamlessly. They moseyed on over to the kitchen from my fall mantel and a couple found their way to the coffee bar shelf. A fitting place, I think. :)

I, of course, included one of my faux-globes from Christmases past. I can’t resist tiny deer and bottle brush trees!

Christmas Coffee Bar -- with vintage flair

Our whole house has a very vintage Christmas feel to it, but our kitchen feels very 1960’s lake house. The kind of Christmas decor Betty Draper would approve of. I’ll show you more of the kitchen when I do a whole house tour next week!

Now, the burning question. What is your favorite hot beverage to sip on at Christmas time?
