“A Thrill of Hope” — Christmas Porch 2013

I hope you are all enjoying the home tours as much as I am! If you didn’t see Gracie and Kylie’s tours today – you can find them and all of the others here

I thought I would show you a few photos of our front porch. I love how it turned out this year. I’m so glad I made the big chalkboard for my Fall porch. It was fun to do new chalk art for Christmas, and I think I’ll keep it up and update it with each season or event. Because why not. :)

http://gracelangdon.blogspot.com/2013/12/boondocks-christmas-home-tour-2013.htmlI’m kinda in love with this sparkly, vintage-inspired “Merry Christmas” sign. I attached it to a fresh fraser fir wreath. Lowes and Home Depot always have fresh wreaths on sale for $5 on Black Friday. I opted for a cedar garland this year. Cedar does whatever it wants, so I used to some floral wire to position it out of the way a bit.

"A Thrill of Hope" - Christmas PorchMy favorite Christmas song is “Oh Holy Night”. I took one of my favorite lines from the song for the chalkboard. I have more “Oh Holy Night” chalkboard artwork above the fireplace.

"A Thrill of Hope" - Christmas PorchLast year I made these Christmas light trees out of tomato cages.

"A Thrill of Hope" - Christmas PorchWe also hung some old-fashioned colored bulbs on the edge of the house and it makes me smile to no end. These are the style of lights we always used growing up {because they’re the style my dad used growing up, too}. We’re sentimental people, I guess. :)
