Christmas

Color Blocked Tree

One day in November, I looked my husband in the eye and said words I never thought would come out of my mouth. “Under no circumstances should you allow me to buy any more Christmas trees this year”. His reply? “Done”.

You see, I have a Christmas tree of some sort in every room of the house. Even the laundry room! That’s 7 trees {not counting the bottle brush, glass and ceramic trees of course}. It’s a disease.

The after-Christmas sales got me one last time this past January, and another adorable white tree practically jumped into my arms…..for only $9! It even came with ornaments!

I kinda forgot about it between January and December…and I rolled my eyes at myself when I found it in my garage. All’s well that ends well, though — and this little cutie looks awesome in our office!

I arranged the Christmas ornaments that came with it in a color-blocked pattern. I had a faux lamb skin from Ikea for a future project on hand — which makes a lovely tree skirt!

The tree topper was another post-Christmas sale find, at Walgreens of all places! It’s a nice throw back to Christmases past, and its colored lights coordinate so well with the vibrant bulbs.

Does anyone else have a sick obsession with Christmas trees like me? How many are in your house?

JOYful Christmas Porch

Hi y’all! I hope you had a great weekend! Ours was full, but great! I’m officially done with all of my Christmas shopping! Woohoo!

We didn’t get around to putting lights on the house this year, but I did decorate the front porch as usual. I always get a fresh garland for around the door. This year’s is cedar {which, since last year, I forgot I’m slightly allergic to….but it’s so pretty!}.

Instead of a wreath, I hung this JOYful door banner. You can find all of the details in my post at All Things Thrifty

The big chalkboard got a festive touch, too. When I’m trying to get inspired, I’ll do a Google search for chalk art to use as a guide. I just freehand based on my inspiration.

The porch needed a bit of sparkle, so I brought back the tomato cage trees.

Little miss Macy Jane had to get in on the fun, too. :)

Wintry Christmas Vignette

One of my favorite spaces to decorate for Christmas is our bedroom dresser. It is often decked out before we even have our main tree up! The first Christmas after we got married, I bought an adorable 4 foot white tree. I love this little tree and enjoy creating a wintry vignette around it every year.

I have a collection of white, silver and clear ornaments that make the tree sparkle. My collection has grown in recent years to include vintage blue and pink Christmas balls and a few vintage-inspired snow globe ornaments.

A large chalkboard sits in place of where our usual print is. I free-handed this wreath and to tell you the truth…I’m completely impressed that I actually got such a round circle!

I’m pretty much in love with anything Lindsay Letters produces, and was super pumped to see that she has a line with Hobby Lobby this year. I scooped up a couple of the metallic prints including this one. “O Holy Night” is my favorite Christmas hymn. I’d be happy to have the lyrics plastered across my walls at all times.

The print is joined by a white, glittery deer and sparkly tree topper.
