House Warming Gift Basket

Hi y’all! Did you have a good weekend? We celebrated my baby sister’s graduation in Austin with the whole fam! It was the first time we’ve all been in the same place at once in a while and was such a happy weekend! My sister has worked so hard to get where she is and I’m so proud of her!

We crashed my other sister and brother-in-law’s cute new house! They took such good care of us and we were so relaxed, it felt like a bed & breakfast!

Buying and moving into a new home is such and exciting experience. It is also stressful and expensive! There are so many little things you end up needing to buy and it all adds up. When someone I love moves into a new home, I like to make up a gift basket full of little things they might need.

It is such an easy and practical gift to put together. Even the “wrapping” is a gift in itself! I grabbed a long media basket from Target {perfect for holding extra rolls of toilet paper or corralling items in the pantry}, a package of sponges, some hand soap and room spray with pretty packaging, a hand-stamped dish towel, super glue, a seasonal candle, a bottle of wine and “wine-out” {just in case!}. You can put anything in the basket that might come in handy. I bought everything at Target, but the dollar store is also a great place to check for goodies to fill the basket.

Before arranging my loot in the basket, a laid the foundation for making it pretty with some colorful tissue paper. Then I got to arranging by starting with the larger items first. Once you do that, you can fill in empty spaces with the smaller items.

Finish your gift basket with a cute tag. I used some leftover scrapbook paper, a paper doily and washi tape to make a tag. I tied it on with a bit of baker’s twine.

What kinds of things would you put in a house warming basket?
