Christmas Home Tour {Part One} – and a $500 Giveaway!

Some affiliate links included.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I seriously love Christmas, y’all. We decorated the house a little early this year and I’ve been listening to Christmas music for weeks. I’ve basically turned into Buddy the Elf. Our first Christmas with our baby girl is adding to the excitement for sure!

Carrie from Lovely, etc. invited me to join in on her “A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour” this year, along with 24 other fabulous bloggers. Be sure to check out all of the other tours for more Christmas inspiration. Their links are at the bottom of this post…along with a $500 giveaway! HOLLA!

Christmas Home Tour 2015 - Part OneI’ll be sharing the first half of our home all Christmas-ified today; our living room and kitchen. I’ll mostly just share photos with minimal dialogue. If you have any questions about sources, feel free to ask!

Christmas Tree 2015

christmas-tour-2015-16

This year, the tree was trimmed with a red & white checkered burlap ribbon and a felted ball garland. We opt for sentimental ornaments over a themed tree. Our tradition is to pick up an ornament on vacations or for any momentous occasion. This year we’ve added some sweet pink to the tree! :)

christmas-tour-2015-18I really love the mantel this year. It’s fun and whimsical! I used my sparkly bottle brush trees again, but also added our little deer friend.

christmas-tour-2015-1Another tradition we’ve started in recent years is purchasing a new Christmas album to play on our record player. Among my favorites are A Christmas Gift for You and Merry Christmas by Bing Crosby. This year’s addition is the Beach Boys Christmas Album. So much fun!

christmas-tour-2015-23I loved our kitchen table centerpiece so much last year, I kept it the same. I love my thermi! ;)

Color Blocked Tree

One day in November, I looked my husband in the eye and said words I never thought would come out of my mouth. “Under no circumstances should you allow me to buy any more Christmas trees this year”. His reply? “Done”.

You see, I have a Christmas tree of some sort in every room of the house. Even the laundry room! That’s 7 trees {not counting the bottle brush, glass and ceramic trees of course}. It’s a disease.

The after-Christmas sales got me one last time this past January, and another adorable white tree practically jumped into my arms…..for only $9! It even came with ornaments!

Color Blocked Tree

I kinda forgot about it between January and December…and I rolled my eyes at myself when I found it in my garage. All’s well that ends well, though — and this little cutie looks awesome in our office!

I arranged the Christmas ornaments that came with it in a color-blocked pattern. I had a faux lamb skin from Ikea for a future project on hand — which makes a lovely tree skirt!

The tree topper was another post-Christmas sale find, at Walgreens of all places! It’s a nice throw back to Christmases past, and its colored lights coordinate so well with the vibrant bulbs.

Does anyone else have a sick obsession with Christmas trees like me? How many are in your house?

Wintry Christmas Vignette

One of my favorite spaces to decorate for Christmas is our bedroom dresser. It is often decked out before we even have our main tree up! The first Christmas after we got married, I bought an adorable 4 foot white tree. I love this little tree and enjoy creating a wintry vignette around it every year.

I have a collection of white, silver and clear ornaments that make the tree sparkle. My collection has grown in recent years to include vintage blue and pink Christmas balls and a few vintage-inspired snow globe ornaments.

A large chalkboard sits in place of where our usual print is. I free-handed this wreath and to tell you the truth…I’m completely impressed that I actually got such a round circle!

I’m pretty much in love with anything Lindsay Letters produces, and was super pumped to see that she has a line with Hobby Lobby this year. I scooped up a couple of the metallic prints including this one. “O Holy Night” is my favorite Christmas hymn. I’d be happy to have the lyrics plastered across my walls at all times.

The print is joined by a white, glittery deer and sparkly tree topper.
